1872 Sept 21st Cut & Hung all the fresh ground
that was Ripe & I had 2 rooms next to Richards
place & Sam had 2 full next to my House
Middle room got none, Will Cut & fill that
room, Sam may Cut & put all his remnant but
the Lot in the Top of the new prize Barn
the [Jo????] & below & next to ground is more
We have put up the past week 9 Stacks blade
fodder & 1 shock & fill nearly 2 Houses Tobacco
22nd Sunday Meeting & School at S. Stone
23rd Sept Samuel Mattherly gone to MIllers Mill
for himself & Carried Log for me & 1 Bushel
Corn, Log for Rafters for Porch
Carried 3 Bushels wheat in part of his
part for thrashing -- Came back home
while his wheat was grinding & Carried another
Log to pay for Sawing them 1 [?] he Carried, one
is for me & one for Sawing -- the Boys done
but little worming & succoring Tobacco on branch
yet. Billey Bailess here 9 [?] day [minding Gap whil]
Sam Halling wood to Barns
24 Worming & succoring over Tobacco Billy
here gathering snap Beans dryed
Turned my 5 young cattle Dolly Betty Ben
Lindy & Rose in lower field [?] this morning
Mr Mattherly [get] my waggon & mules gone to
Jacobs & they are going after toll wheat
up about Glenns &C, to day _ got all the toll
Wheat up above wards Road except Saml Smiths at
Mr James Pannells plantation Mr [L????] & Banks's -
25 Cutting all my Tobacco & Sams except
that in the Lot Halled it all up but did
not get done hanging Mr Mattherly [helped]
us this day Rained in night & evening
26 Fair Beautiful morning Hanging & raising
Tobacco soon this morning. Rained tonight
27 Mr Mattherly & Wm Bailess here Billy Wm & succoring
Do at work on cooking Room
