1872 Oct 6th I am going to Sunday School the Lord
permitting & may break up the Sunday School to day
7th Lowry Graves set in here to work this morning
Wm Bailess Hyram Wyat & Lowry Hanging Tobacco
in Lot cloudy & like for rain.
Mr Mattherly Halling Logs for me to day to Mill
Carried one this morning - 10 feet Long for [10] Inch plank
Wrote to [Edelons] of the Herald this morning & sent it
to Post office [by] Mr Mattherly, Rained & Mr M did
not Carry but one Log & went home after the rain
we got most all of our Tobacco in House yesterday
8th Firing Tobacco in old & new prize Barn this
morning cleared off this morning pretty morning
Raised & Housed all my Lot Tobacco & Sams & put it
in Back of Garden & Sam Halled wood to fire
it. Lowry Ben Andrew & Lewis worked on road
out to plant Bed & Lowry went home this night
making 2 days he has worked of the month
Went home to get up his corn & Coming back
next Monday. Mr Mattherly halled 2 Logs to
Millers to day for me making 7 to Miller's he carried
& I have 2 at Yates, --
9th Halling 1 Log to Yates saw Mill this morning
for 10 Inch Plank Gathering apples til 12 oclock
In the Evening Mr Mattherly carried 2 Logs
Mr Wright got us Sheep this evening ---
[to] Millers Mill for 4 Inch [Joint Breakets] for
Kitchen, Sam firing barn Tobacco back of Garden
Balance [Beekin] trough of apples for Cider
Jacob got 5 Bushels of his toll wheat &
Carried it to Millers Mill
10th Halling up corn this morning Mr Mattherly
gone to Millers with 1 Log [1 Log] for Rafters Sam firing (the second "1 Log" on this line is deleted)
Tobacco Ben & Lewis & Andrew Halling up Corn
Clear day Clear windy day finished firing Tobacco
Mr Mattherly gone to Millers with another Log
& all I [shall] carry now making 11 Logs I have
got at Millers & 3 at [L_] W Yates for Plank
