disposed_ A rich old fellow
has just established a Professorship
of Natural Sciences in connexion
with revelation with a salary of
$2100 - by a very handsome donation for that object to the
Seminary, I look upon it as a
great move forwards among
our Theologs. They would get
Lecoute for it if they could
but he will not leave the College.
We are getting on very well
in our institution - having a quiet
time & much hard study. We have
now just doubled the height of
our standard for passing the
examinations, & I think it will have
a fine effect. The Trustees back
us up to the bub in it & are
inclined to go farther than
we think prudent for the present.
