words are a good lesson. Require the study
on the hard words. A good lesson is
one in which every word is spelled without
hesitating. Prizes make good pupils
better and poor ones poorer. There might
be rewards. Give all a pencil when a certain
object is attained. One who gets a perfect
lesson is head. Spell next day what has
been missed the day before. Keep list of
missed words. Hold pupils responsible
for all lessons which they have been over.
Connect with spelling. Word Ananysis and
definitions. Get them to group words. It is an
advantage. Spell mainly from the Reader.
Show difference between abbreviations and
contractions. Cal is the abbreviation of California.
Pupils see a new word in the book. Have them
spell it by sound by letter and write it.
Variety is needed. Choose sides. Let different
