wine glass full twice a day –

The weather here has much improved of late,
which is a great advantage to me, the cold
winds are gradually leaving us. I hope to be quite
well by the Spring Winter in California is
always the most healthy part of the year.
We have not had one single shower for
for the last six Months. No fear of being
caught in the rain, during the Summer –
but a good puff of wind is quite an equivalent
to say nothing of dust &c [etc.] –

The reference to your last Letter I beg to return
my most sincere and hearty thanks for all the
good thing you have writen [written] therein and
the Many compliments confered [conferred] upon My general
conduct. The real felicity you have so kindly
planned in Your own Mind, adds Much to
the pleasure of anticipation and If I ever
realize the happiness you picture I shall
indeed be in Elysium.

Please to give My kind regards to Mr Ranyes
I am very Much obliged to My old friend
for the interest he takes in My Welfare
When I expressed you to condense Your letter
I meant that you were not to keep back
any part of a letter, to be forwarded at some
future time but to croude [crowd] all into one
