My Dear Father

I send you a line to let
you know that I have arrived in New Orleans
safe and well. We Made the passage in
24 days from San Francisco –

I can not say that itis [it is] very pleasant traveling
a cross the Isthmus. –

Nearly all our passenger had good health
and only one Man died on the way –

We Numbered about 600, 400 Steerage 200 Cabin
I will write again from Nashville.
