My Dear Father

[written in pencil] Aug 14 1852

In answers to the Most
important part of you letter I will
give a short statement of My of
My movements since I last wrote
you. all went well with me for a short
time and I thought Sacramento
would agree with My constitution
but it seem's as soon as I got over
the change I felt Much worse
and lost strength every day at last
I went to a Doctor who only Made Me
worse but still advised Me to remain
in the same place. I did not take
his advice but once more returned to
San Francisco and No sooner had I
landed than I felt better, but did not
get well, I went on as usual workers
here and there, till about June, – when I
found that I was getting Must worse
and went to the best Physician
here Dr Montague from London
under his Management I have improved
