into consideration I do not know as you
could find a more suitable or capable
person to take charge of their affairs than
Mr. S. A. Jewett as I think him an honest
man & a man of good judgement -- one who
would attend to everything entrusted to his
care in a faithful manner, & one who as
you say "would not make unreasonable
charges" One thing is certain & that is

He is well acquainted with all of our
business as he effected the settlement for his
father with J. A. Tucker on my accts. --

To make the story short I should approve of
his being appointed guardian for C & H as I
consider him preferable to anyone else about
there & I think he would do well by C & H --

I am glad to hear that H. gets along so
well with her music, also that C. is liked well
by Mr. Lewis. I have no doubt however but
what he deserves Mr. L's highest confidence.
I hope so at any rate. Give my love to C & H &
tell C. I shall send him a paper tomorrow & I
want he should write me in return. H. A. P.
