I have receved [received] no letters from Mr T. as
yet by this mail, but presume I shall
find one tomorrow. I recd [received] letters however
from "Cousin Jennie" and also from one of
my old friends and shopmates at Thacher Shurg
Charles Caverly, I need not say they were acceptable.

Yesterday I received a letter from Sam
Tucker
[Samuel P. Tucker]. He is well and hearty as usual
and I guess he is doing very well, does not
say anything about coming down here, so I
conclude that he has given up the idea of
doing so for the present at least.

I am as well today as usual with the
exception of feeling "rather used up" on account of
being up yesterday from one half past two in the morning
until half past ten last night, -- as I was
out early in the morning on account of a very de-
structive fire which broke out at that time
destroying about thirty buildings, mostly all
dwelling houses, doing more damage than any
fire we have had here before for eighteen months.

We are having very fine weather, now and
everything in the way of business is about a [as] usual

Please give my love to Chas, Hattie, and
my friends, after reserving a good share for yourself

From Your sincere and affct [affectionate] Son
H. A. Parker [Henry A. Parker]

Mrs Ann Parker
