by Mr N. Mr Millet, and myself, and the
other one is occupied by a Mr Whitcomb from
Lowell, and a young man from New York.
So as we all with one exception belong in
the same state, when at home, we are quite
neighborly here in California.

This morning I awoke between eight and
nine o clock, got up and washed me,
and then went out and got my breakfast.

On my return, I received from Mr Dor
an invitation to take dinner with them,
which invite I excepted [accepted]. We had a good
dinner (boiled dish, with all the fixens).
Then in the middle of the afternoon, we
had some ice cream, all of which was very
nice. Afterward we took a walk, and
soon after our return I commenced this
letter to you, which I shall soon lay
aside, until the mail steamer arrives when
I shall, as a matter of course, expect to
receive a letter from you, the same
as usual. Give my love to Charles and Hattie
and ask them to write me. How glad I
should be to see them, but I cannot do
so at present. Hoping you are all as well
and comfortable as I am I will bid you Good Night
