on board the Brig called the Northman whereof
Geo R Nickerson is Master for this voyage, now lying at the Port of
NEW-YORK, and bound for Sacramento City Cal. To say:

before delivery of goods, which are to be taken
from the vessel's tackles, when ready to be discharged
or the master at liberty to land the same, at the expense
and risk of the goods, and sell sufficient to pay freight
and charges. Vessel to have the privilege of touching
at one or more ports, and not be accountable for the
contents of packages or loss by fire or collision.]
being marked and numbered as in the margin, and are to be delivered in the like order
and condition, at the Port of Sacramento City (the dangers of the seas & fire
only excepted,) unto Mr John N Ryerson
or to his assigns, he or they paying freight for the said Goods
One Dollar & ten cents p foot
with 5% primage and average accustomed. IN WITNESS THEREOF, the Master or
Purser of the said vessel hath affirmed to 4 Bills of Lading, all of this tenor
and date; one of which being accomplished, the others to stand void.
