The Field's came down
yesterday. Martha and I
are going over to call on them
some afternoon.

John and Horace have
been making a boat and are
going to have the launching
this afternoon. We all have to
go over to see it. Mr. Clifford is
going to make a speech. John
came in last night and
asked us if we didn't have
a bottle of "hootch" to
christen the boat with.

I got dinner all by
myself last night. We had
crab and beet salad, fried
eggs and bacon and also
fried potatoes. For dessert
we had tea and fruit.

This afternoon I am
going to make over a dress
