My dear old Edward:

Yesterday I got your letter of the 8th
saying that you were going on a 3 days
trip to the Lake of the Woods and Mount
Agassiz, so I suppose you will be
back tomorrow. I am sure you must
be having a glorious time, and you will
have lots to tell us when you come back
and I hope you will tell it without stammering.

You know dear old boy, that I sent you
to Camp Agassiz at great expense, [at great expense underlined] to help
you conquer your stammering, and I
hope you are trying hard to overcome
it, as it will ruin your life if you dont.

Lesley came home Friday night at 11:30
I was sound asleep, and he woke me up
by pounding on the front door. He looks
very well and is glad to be home again
although he says it was very fine where
he was. Mother will not I believe
get back before the 5th of August. She
