Mr dear old Sned:

I have just arrived at the office and received
your letter of the 4th enclosing cheque for $25.00, being
$1.00 for Lesley and $24.00 for me. Thank you very
much for your promptness in making the return
of the loan. I wrote you a few lines yesterday to
know when you would return, and as you dont
say anything in your letter about it, I hope you
will in your next. I dont know what your
brothers are going to do for Mothers birthday but
I will tell them to count you in on whatever
they do. Your birthday will be here soon and
I rather hope you will be at home for it.

That ride to Mount Lowe is a fine one. I know
about the graft of having your name published
and we saw your name in the paper you sent.
I am very glad you got rid of that carbuncle
they are very painful and quite dangerous. I
dont see why you have so many boils.

All well at home. We all go to the theatre tonight.
Lots of love to Henry and Effie and Alice.

always your loving Father
