SAN FRANCISCO,]

My dear old Snedward:

I am going to take a chance of
this letter reaching you as you said there
was a steamer leaving tomorrow which
would get to Honolulu the same day
you would. It blew like the mischief
last night, and neither Mother or I could
get to sleep as we were thinking of you
and wondering if you were sea sick.

We caught the 5:45 boat home, and
walked all the way from Pier 38 to the
Ferry. We shall certainly be glad to
see you home again, and have you tell
us all about the Trip etc. I dont know
where your cousin Capt Roy Matheson
stops but I had an idea he was going
out to some camp out of town. Arthur
Berg
to whom I gave you a letter, used
to be Accountant for Gulte & Frank all the
time I was there. He is married now.

All well at home. Lots of love from
us all and a pleasant time to you.
always your loving old Dad
HLABates
