father helped him to make out
of your blocks, Edward, under
the Christmas tree. It is such a
pretty little house that I would
like to keep it in that shape
altogether, but no doubt he will
soon pull it apart and make
something else – and he has already
painted all through the book
that you sent Jocelyn. That
is still one of his favorite pastimes,
painting or crayoning pictures.
It was exceedingly good of you
both to think of him. He has
had a joyful time this Christmas
and got a great many splendid
presents. He has been out all this
afternoon with his new sled, with
Philip who was on skiis. It was
milder today than it has been
for some time, so they could stay
out longer and they had great fun.
