Snedward my dear old boy:

It is raining and has been for the past
12 hours, and also looks as if it would keep
up all day. I dont remember rain this time
of the year before. Yesterday Mother and I and
Edith went to see the Moving Pictures of the Durbar
in colours. It was wonderful.

I suppose you have heard of the rumpus
in our neighborhood. Beadle has built a 14 ft
spite fence alongside of the Turners to force
Turner to pay an exhorbitant price for the vacant
lot between them. It seems that there is no
law against it in this State, and Turner called
a mass meeting at his house Thursday night.
A committee of five was appointed to call on
Beadle, and he said he would give his answer
last night. Tomorrow night we meet again
to get his reply. He has not removed the fence
and we hear he refuses to do it and demands
that Turner buy the lot from him for $55.00 a foot
which is $10.00 more than it is worth. What
will be done Monday night I dont know
but I almost hope that everyone will join
in tearing it down. Beadle ought to be forced
