mail had been collected, so I
guess you got it to-day. I didn't
write last night as I was so
very tired, I hope that you will
excuse me. I took a bath and
went to bed early.

The weather here has been
very unsettled. You don't know
whether to go out prepared for rain
or sunshine. Fortunately I went
prepared for rain, as it rained
a great deal over at Berkeley to-day.
Did you have a thunder storm
last night, dear? I didn't know
it was thunder until this
morning. I thought it was the
wind blowing down the chimney.
