Monday afternoon,
Jan. 24, 1921.

My dearest one,

It has been raining and blowing
hard all day. It just seems as if
we can't have any sunshine. I have
been home all alone this afternoon.
Got home from College a little before
two. Had lunch at the Alpha O [Omega]
House. Martha and Mother have
gone up to Mrs. Bacon's. I didn't
know what to do with myself
and as I didn't have any
studying to do, I thought I would
make some candy. Made it up
on the little gas stove so that
I would not bother Juv in the
kitchen. I wish you were here to
eat some of it with me, dear, but
oh, I forgot you do not like candy
