My dearest Edward,

Well, to-day has been
very exciting, Martha Linderman Bates and Mary Helen Bates came home. The folks
brought them home early this
afternoon. Your mother and
father and I stayed with
Martha Linderman Bates while Dad, Mother &
Jocelyn Bates went over to get a baby
carriage. It is a lovely one,
gray wicker and it is lined
with gray courderoy. The
baby looks darling in her
new little bed. She said she
wished her Uncle Edward was
here to see her in it.
