Subject: Report on money exchange.

1. Received from companies of this Regiment the sum of
Seven Hundred Forty-seven thousand, Eight hundred Twenty-nine
francs (747,829.47) and Forty-seven centimes plus Four Hundred
and Four Francs (404.) in bad money, for which I received
in exchange One Hundred Twenty-eight thousand Nine Hundred
Thirty-three dollars and Eighty-seven cents (128,933.87)
dollars)

2. I hold receipt from all of the companies of this
Regiment for the sum of Six Hundred and Ninety-one thousand
Four Hundred and Eighteen francs and Eighty-two centimes
(691,418.82 francs) Also I paid out to the companies equal of
this amount in American money which equalled One Hundred
Twenty-eight thousand Eight Hundred and Ninety-one dollars
and Seventy-four cents (128,891.74 dollars) and hold receipts
for that amount. Therefore, I am surplus $42.02.

3. I was able to cash Three Hundred and Eighty francs (380)
of the bad money and exchange that amount into Sixty five dollars
and Fifty-one cents (65.51 dollars) This amount plus the $42.02
surplus mentioned in par. 2, plus 24 francs of bad money, equals
a total surplus of One Hundred Seven dollars Fifty-three cents
(107.53. dollars) plus 24 francs of bad money, which I am
turning over to you, to dispose of in the proper manner. I
shall personally hold the receipts received from companies.
