Dear Bogoo (spelling?)! --

Pardon me for not
writing before but I have been on the
sick list for 3 weeks. I saw your folks
at the boathouse Sunday & your father
gave me your address. The male
population of college is getting smaller.
I got a very nice letter from Wendall
Hauch
a short time ago. He is in northern
Italy & seems to enjoy his work very
much. Do you know George Meyer from
Alameda. He is in the training camp at Linda
Vista
. He was a in my class at Cal.

You will will interested perhaps in
knowing that I have left the great unknown
& am [now - crossed out] to be after initiation
Thursday a Sigma Nu. War
produces great changes. Anything might
happen. I am living in Berkeley, California for a
while until I get O.K. again. So far
I enjoy very much. I hope I get
the part of college life that we lost
before. That is the only reason I joined, so as to
complete my college education.
