Billings Feb 22nd 1918.

My dearest Edward

Thinking that you
might like to have a line
from your grandmother I believe
I must send you a little letter.

It is very pleasant to hear
that you are daily growing stronger
Edward, dear, I certainly hope
that you will grow very well and
strong before you have to go to
France. I hope you will not
have to go for a good while

[Conclusion of letter] [Written along left margin:]
dear if you have time to write. But if it is hard for you do not
try.
Ever your loving grandmother
