We told him we made an exception in his [underlined] case!

Mrs Wallace tells me that Frances Sludel
son of 2 1/2 is very [underlined] ill with phneumonia in
New York. They had wired out about it —
They think [underlined] him a little better now — I hope
he will [double underlined] get better. It would be very sad if he did
not but I hope he will — Marguerite & her small
son are thriving I hear — I have not seen them
yet — Frances address is 71 Post Ave.
Apartment 32. Don't forget dearest on your
way home — if you land in New York you must
see her.

Letter from Dick today reports all well — He is
eager for more news [underlined] of you & Nor. He had a letter
from you from the Coblenz hospital etc. He had
not yet heard of your Croix de Guerre. So we know
how glad he [underlined] will [underlined] be when he hears of it — He said in
his letter that there is "no doubt that Edward has
made a great name for himself" & he was "glad
that the dear lad was to have a little furlough"
