SAN FRANCISCO, CAL., ]

Feb 19th 1919.

My dear old Snedward:

We got a short letter from you and a lot of
postal cards of San Salvadour two nights ago, and
we are delighted that you are seeing so much and
enjoying yourself. It is a fine education for you
and you will have pleasant memories of it all
during your whole life. I received your postal
addressed to me from Base Hosp 99 postmarked
Jan 24th with a picture of Allouard's place. In one
of your postals, we got the impression that you were
going from place to place, as you spoke of various
places and said I liked [underlined] Cannes the best, as though
you were no longer there. I received yesterday
the 3rd remittance of $100.00 which you sent through
the Y.M.C.A. so that settles the loan in full.
Thank you very much for it. I believe the
Daily Cal is going to write you up next week,
and Mother no doubt has sent you copies of
the Examiner and Times Star recounting your
having the C de G with palms. So you see Edward
you have become "notorious"! We all hope you
will be sent home soon as I would like to see you
back at college if you want to continue your
medical course. You will be sorry to hear
of Dr. Andrew Pantons death which came from
pneumonia after influenza. He was a fine
man and we all liked him, and I know you
