Dear old Croix de Guerre;
The old world
has turned round & round lots of
times since bidding you good bye
at San Salvadour and I suppose
many things have happened to you
same as to me. Have been having
a hard time getting in communication
with my army friends owing to the
fact that practically all there [their] addresses
were in my trunk which I lost
on the last leg of the journey
to Brest. Wrote Doc. for yours
and am just now in receipt of
his letter - hence this to you.
After leaving San Salvadour I
found my troubles had barely
commenced. Was sent to the
hospital at St. Aignan for
three weeks and in bed believe me
