and last. I was surprised to find
so many fellows died who went
to war. that I didn't know about.
Its very sad, to say the least, but
it will come to all of us sooner
or later.

I intend to write "Choppy"
and shall very shortly for I got to
know the old boy pretty well, and
regard him as a friend.

Such is the condition of
things here. We expect the police
of Boston to go on a strike to-night.
Did you ever hear of such an affair.
They want to have a union affiliated with
the A.F. of L. and the Police Commision
wont allow it so they go on a strike
what next? I guess its up to us to go
on the Police Force.
