P.S. I was in S.F. at the St Frances at
a tea to hear a Red Cross worker from
Russia talk & whom should I see at
another table near[underlined] me but Mrs
Shoemaker & Katherine Shoemaker — both looking
as they did last year. Katherine
came over to speak to me & as I was
alone, asked me to join them which
I did[underlined] & enjoyed it very much. K looked
mighty nice pretty I thought they were
with another couple whom I met
They are in SF at present Admiral S __
is order to Washington & Katharine will go
surely[underlined] but may[underlined] go to Jalire first. Mrs S
has engaged her finest cottage & will go there
first anyway & not sure about Washington
yet especially in Summer. They were very[underlined] nice
& walked with me to the car.
It was a real treat to see them.
