Dear Ed:

So you are finally a full
fledged M.D. and I may add a "good
one" too! I am not so enthused
over the briliant book-worm type of
professional man who forgets as fast
as he learns. But assimilation
seems to me to be the great thing
in one's education. And he who
grows old gracefully has the best
chance to achieve most. Well, Ed, I
wish I could shake your hand and
congratulate you! Surely, Betty is
a fortunate girl! I just bet she
will be sore at me.

Your letter arrived while I was
en route to Denver, returning via the
Northwest. My wife forwarded it to me
