until 3:15. Herb and I had a fine
time and proceeded to drink much wine.
Arrived at Tours at 6:30. Got out to
the field about 8 o'clock. Found a lot
of the old boys here. Some of them have
their commissions. My first impressions
of the place lead me to believe that I
will like it here very much. The quarters
are crowded, but the food is splendid, and
we have French girls to wait on the table.
No more washing of our own dishes.

Wednesday May 29, '18.

I got up at 4:45 as the fellows made
so much noise that I gave up the idea of trying
to sleep, so I got breakfast, that I would have
otherwise have lost out on. It was worth
getting up for. We had honest to God oat meal
and milk. The second time since I left the
States. Went out and watched the boys fly.
Took in the movies at the Y.M. and saw
Douglas Fairbanks in the Habit of Happiness.
The first good picture that I have seen
since I left home. The dirty Huns
are raising Hell on the Aisne. They
have Vailley and Fismes.
