voyage this afternoon. He started
out with a rotery Rhone 90h.
motor. He took off over the hangers
and Sopwith planes and got up
about 30 ft. when his motor died
and he fell on a wing between
two Sops, smashed his machine
all to pieces, but didn't touch a Sop.
He wasn't hurt at all, but it took two
men to pull him out of the wreckage.
Pete Winship got into a wing-
slip near the ground while
landing when on his [deletion] voyage
and smashed completly. He got a
bad cut over the eye. Dan Currier,
had another forced landing. This
is the third time that he has started
on his voyage. These machines
are certainly deathtraps. They are
all worn out, and you can never
tell when the motor is going to
quit. Under these circumstances
you feel like letting the Major
and his cohorts kick you out.

to do. They watch every move
