WITH THE AMERICAN EXPEDITIONARY FORCE

France Nov 26th 1917

Dear Ma:

Just a line to let you know
that I am alright. I received
a fruit cake from Allie the
other day and it sure was
fine. There was two cakes in
the box, one of them we ate
right away but the other I am
saving for thanksgiving. The
dinner wouldn’t be complete
without a piece of fruit cake.
The cake you are sending I am
going to save for Xmas dinner.
We expect mail about Wednesday
and I am in hopes of either
getting some candy or a cake.
Don’t worry if the mail doesn’t
reach you regularly.

can send picture post cards
and a lot of the pictures of
