On Active Service
WITH THE AMERICAN EXPEDITIONARY FORCE

Dear Ma:
Just a line to let you know
that I am getting along fine.
B Co is getting to be the champion
movers of the regiment. But I
guess we will settle down after
while and work harder.
We had a good time thanks-
giving day. We had dinner
at one o’oclock, and we had
everything from soup to nuts.
At two thirty F Co played foot-
ball with the marines and
F won 12-0. In the evening
the colored regiment stationed
near us put on a minstral
show. They sang, danced and
told stories, the best thing on
the program was the dancing.
After their program we put
on several acts and finished
