Another very good friend
went this morning, L.M.
Smith. Smithy and I bunked
together at St. Maxient during
our long stay there. He went into
the ground in a nose dive at
Field 5. He was considered a very
good flier. — I was one of the
paulbearers to Smyth’s funeral
this afternoon. All four fellows
were buried at the same time
and with the one services.
Brown sent me to the tester
this evening, and I got by
Dugan. I wasn’t over anxious
to get by, so I guess that is why
I passed. Start on “23” singles
