Dear Mother,
just a few lines to let
you know that I recieved your letter
and also recieved the Box you sent
me that cake was sure fine I gave
some of it to Larson and Herb and
a few other Boys they sure did
enjoy eating it and so did I as it
sure was fine it could not be beat
believe me and be sure and thank
Mrs. West for that Box of Candy
that she sent me as it is fine I do
not see how that cake got here
without being broken to pieces
but it was not it was just the
same as when you put it in the
Box and it kept fine it was not
at all stale it sure has a fine flavor
you can believe me.
