Dear Mr. Yateman :
Thank you for your letter. I believe I do not have answers to all your questions; I would like to refer you to the Southern Regional Council whose address is 5 Forsyth Street, Altanta [Atlanta], Georgia 30303. The Council would be pleased to furnish you with the results of their many years of research in the areas you want.
Sincerely yours,
Julian Bond

Dear Mrs. McClure,
I do appreciate your writing to bring to my attention the situation in Dalton, Georgia.
My District is located in Atlanta, Fulton County, and I don't believe I could be as helpful in this situation as could a larger organization. Therefore, I am forwarding your letter to Mrs. Ruby Hurley, of the NAACP, here in Altanta, with a copy of this letter.
Mrs. Hurley will be glad to have the information, I know, and will be in touch with you soon.
Sincerely,
Julian Bond

Dear Ms. Jameson:
Thank you for your invitation to speak at Texas Southern University in November. I very much regret that I will be unable to accept as my travel schedule does not allow time for another stop.
I appreciate the invitation and hope that something could possibly be arranged for a later date.
Sincerely,
Julian Bond

Dear Mark:
I am writing to suggest something to you and the Guild. As you know, there is a growing and fairly affluent black middle class in the good old U.S. of A.
Like - or probably more than other middle class Americans, they are class and status conscious.
Why wouldn't they be ripe customers for a "Black Art" division of Collector's Guild?
There are, of course, many native black artists, certainly many African ones, as well as South Americans.
One problem, of course, would be identifying your customers - that is, being able to know who these black people are, what their names and addresses are.
Another little concern I am tied up with will have by March or April a mailing list of every black professional person in the United States - doctors, lawyers, dentists, teachers and so on.
The two - the Guild's know-how and this list - could be put together rather profitably, don't you think? If you do think so, please let me know, as I am very interested in you showing me how to make money. That is to say, I'd like a piece of it. If you don't think so, let me know that too, so I can think of some other dazzling idea.
Happy new year.
Sincerely, Julian Bond
