Thur May 1st I [It] was raining this morning and kept it up until about 10 O clock and cloudy and threatning all day. Lew fussed at his cart and went to town then worked at his cart again. I repaired up an old hand corn planter then painted the body of Lews cart.

Fri May 2nd All kinds and to-wards night quite squally. We put in the day a fishing. Mr Dixon helped awhile in the forenoon. We got 139 carp at one haul and 150 cat fish at 3 hauls this afternoon. Mr. Birdsall helped us catch them. We fixed them up comfortable in the ditch below the barn.

Sat May 3 Pretty fair day but it rained a little two or three times. Lew finished breaking the little patches and hauled two little jags of wood. I trimmed raspberry bushes. Will Bingland got some little plum trees. Dave went to town and Mr Plummer went with him. They brought out Ett and the girls.

Sunday May 4 Another one of them changeable days but it didn't storm much. We kept Sunday mostly and visited with Reas's folks. Frank Beach took Meda for a ride and I suppose that he left her at Reas's.

Mon May 5th Very changeable to day and some of the time a right cold wind. Lew went up to the ranch and took up 2 colts for Messrs Bernards one gray mare for George Owens the two Bill Smokes colts Topsey Sadie Sam Tipsey and Maud S. I went to town this forenoon to meet C V Howard and Free Thoman to talk over ditch matters.

Tues May 6 Lovely all day after a quite a frost. Dave and I hauled 9 loads of manure in the forenoon. In the afternoon Dave went to town. Plummer went with him and I painted Lews cart and piled up and burnt the raspberry bushes. Lew plowed for corn on the windy hill place.

Wed May 7 Lovely all day. We fished this forenoon. We let Neece have 90 lbs carp $2.70 50 lbs catfish $3.00 7 lbs sunfish $0.40 and had a nice lot of both left this afternoon. Dave cleaned some fish. Lew plowed and I hauled 3 loads of manure.

Thurs May 8 Pretty nice this forenoon had a shower with some hail. I hauled 5 loads of manure this forenoon and sowed some alfalfa soed [seed] this afternoon on the 10 acre piece where it was then Lew plowed.

Fri May 9 Fair in the morning two little showers a little after noon and cold and windy towards night. I hauled out manure got out 5 loads in the forenoon. Dave helped get out two. I got out 2 in the afternoon then sowed alfalfa seed on the thin spots on the two little pieces near the house on the windy hill place. Lew plowed up there.

Sat May 10 Cloudy but didnt rain and cleared up towards night. Lew plowed corn ground. Dave went to town. I sowed alfalfa seed on the thin places and fixed the fence at the NE corner of the Larimer place and made a wagon Jack.
