Fri May 19 Clear but very windy and getting awful dry. Lew worked at the strawberry business to day and Kib howed [hoed] peas this forenoon and this afternoon he helped Lew. They got out 2 rows and part of another. I found some water in the Larimer Co ditch and turned out about 35 or 40 inches but some vandal took a lot more for Long Pond so it failed on me a good deal but I worked at it all day and left some running to night on the piece this side of the house.

Sat May 20 Clear and pretty nice. We all set strawbery plants. We had 16 inches of water in the headgate No 2 and we run some into the lake for we had to set strawberries.

Sun May 21 Clear in the fore part of the day and cloudy and rained a little in the after part. We all kept Sunday hand over hand reading and writing and Kib went to town.

Mon May 22 Cloudy and cold and pretty cold all day and to night it will freeze everything up solid. Lew and I went town to take the cream over and we got a few things and I sold half of my work in the Dry Creek lateral to JH Bristol for 80 dollars cash. Kib was sick and didnt only help do the chores. [along right side:] Water failed just night.

Tues May 23 Some clear and some cloudy and a little wind just at night. Kib helped to set the strawberries then irrigated some of them then went to town with mother then helped Lew spray trees. Lew and I helped set the ballance [balance] of the strawberries then fixed and went to spraying but when Kib came home I went to hoeing. No water to irrigate to day.

Wed May 24 Cloudy and commenced to rain just at night. The boys hauled 2 loads of hay from windy hill and this afternoon they they hoed and some other chores. I irrigated the strawbery plants this forenoon and this afternoon kept on irrigating and hoeing farther west.
