Tues. March 5 Clear but a very cold south wind. Lew went to Frank's and got his cattle and fetched them and put them into the windy hill piece and brought four of our heifers down that were getting pretty forward. Mary and I went to town and done quite a lot of Errands. Took over 20 doz [dozen] of Eggs that have been laid in less than a week.

Wed. March 6 Clear and more pleasant but Somewhat Cool. Lew went up to get Gus Marsh this morning. They hauled a load of hay and done sundry chores this forenoon and this afternoon they Lew went over to the snow place and Marsh went over to Teds to get his things. I visited with Mr Silas Buffams this afternoon til [till] towards night then made an ironing board for May. This forenoon I done lots of small jobs at the buggys and other things.

Thurs. March 7 Clear mostly but quite Cold. We took out the potatoes and found them not so badly frozen as I Expected they were. Marsh took them out and worked at the wood pile some. Meather [Mother ?] and I went over to Mr. Cushions found Mrs Holmes Some better and [gardy ?] too. He has the inflamation in his bowels and so has Mrs Bee and Charley Howard is quite out of fix. He has had a terrible time with a tooth and swelled face.

Fri. March 8 Clear and part of the day, pretty warm. Marsh gathered up wood green cottonwood and dry appletree wood and we have quite a pile again to cut up. Lew has just got home and So has Dan but Dan is quite under the weather. Grip I guess. I have made Marys mixing board and done some other little jobs.

Sat. March 9 Clear and quite a nice day. Lew went down to Jessops and got his pigs. Marsh cut wood this forenoon and this afternoon went to town and done some errands for us and to night has gone to see his girl but we didnt send any errands for him to do there. l made two little head gates to irrigate the front yard with but I didnt feel very good so didnt do much this afternoon.

Sun. March 10 Cloudy this morning and looked very much like snow but cleared off after a while and was nice this afternoon. We all kept sun [Sunday] a good deal like we generally do.

Mon March 11 Clear and a pretty fair day only the wind blow most too much some of the time. Dan feels a good deal better to day but he looks rather peaked yet. Lew went over to the snow place to work to day. Marsh cut wood. I worked most of the time at a head gate and one thing and another.

Tues March 12 Clear and Still and quite nice. Lew and Mary went to the place this morning. Marsh cut wood and got nearly done what was here. I finished the head gate and done some more besides.

Wed March 13 Pretty cold today from 15 to 20° above zero and it snowed slowly all day. Marsh worked at the wood about half a day. I half soled my boot and helped mother tie quilt a little.

Thurs March 14 Snowed to about 3 1/2 inches this forenoon but quite decent this afternoon. Gus went to town this fornoon but we didnt do anything to day but the chores. Lew and Mary came home to night.

Fri March 15. Clear but pretty cold. The therm [thermometer] marked 5° below this morning. Lew and Mary went to their home this morning and took a load of household goods. Marsh went with them and he took 16 head of cattle from our field. They had been in just 10 days which is 160 5 months and 10 days. Then he went to town and brought out Meda. I put some snow into the cistern.

Sat March 16 Clear and thawed quite a bit. Gus went to town to attend the Moore sale. I stirred around a little but didnt do much.

Sun March St Patricks day. Clear and thawed a good deal. Charleys folks and John and Libby Golden were here to day and we had a nice visit too.

Mon March 18 Clear warm and nice. Mearsh [Marsh] and I hauled a load of hay and scattered in piles around the yard at Windy hill. Then brought down some lumber from the shed up there. Then Gus helped at choring about the house and I fixed things ready to run some water into the cistern.

Tues March 19 We found about 1 1/2 inches of snow this morning but was clear and the snow was all gone before night. Marsh painted this afternoon. We topped the sugar orchard this forenoon. I tried to run some water into the cistern but it kept so muddy that we didnt get any in.

Filled the cistern today.

Wed March 20 Clear Still and warm in the middle of the day. Gus went to town this forenoon and this afternoon he painted up stairs. I filled the cistern and cleaned out the three hen houses and this afternoon I made and hung a door to the calf pen and done some other fixing to it. Lew sold Deck today for $35 dolls [dollars].

Thurs March 21 Clear and pretty nice. Marsh helped Lew haul hay this forenoon and painted this afternoon. I went to town to get pay for Deck but Mr Ish the man that bought him was out to get some beef cattle and didnt get back in time so I didnt see him.

Fri Mar 22 A good deal of wind and towards night it Snowed a little. Marsh painted this forenoon and this afternoon went to town. I got a lot of cions [scions] this forenoon and this afternoon. Messrs Taft were here to get some plum cions [scions] and I visited some and worked at some nest boxes some.

Sat March 23 The wind has howled all day and it has been too cold for comfort. Gus has been fixing up the rooms up stairs fixing down the carpets etc. I have been making and fixing up nest boxes and have got them pretty well fixed up in the hen houses about here. Meda came home about noon [Avils?] brought her out.

Sun March 24 Clear and Pretty fair. We kept Sunday pretty fair. Marsh went over to Teds and has now gone over to town with Meda. Lew came over to night and got a bakers dozzen [dozen] of chickens. Hans Anderson was here to day. He says that the folks over on that street are on the mend some.

Mon March 25 Clear still and real nice and warm. Gus painted the pantry and done some other small chores down at the barn. I fixed up some mortar and fixed up the holes in the wall in the kitchen and dining room.

Tues March 26 Clear and nice this morning but got to blowing pretty hard and clouded up in the afternoon. Gus painted the pantry over again today. I fixed up the dining room with Mothers help and sort of cleaned up the lawn by raking and burning.

Wed March 27 a right nice day. We sowed alfalfa seed on the piece on the hill and the piece north of the barn. I thought the crop would be improved by sowing it over. Then this afternoon we made a pass at trimming and grubbing the orchard and we got quite a lot of brush Scattered around.

Thurs March 28 Anything you like from Windy as blazes to very Still and from thick cloudy to bright sunshine. Gus worked in the orchard in the forenoon and plowed for Will Dixon in the afternoon. I worked at trimming orchard for a business.

Fri March 29 Quite nice today all day. Gus plowed for Will Dixon plowing. I done a pretty fair days Work in the orchard trimming.
