Wed June 1st Clear bright all day. Lew and Kib set slips and plowed ditches until about 4 O clock then Lew scraped a little and Kib helped me shovel out ditches a little while then went for the cows and Jake Sheets took his shovel and helped until we quit.

Thurs June 2 Fine again all day. Lew scraped out ditches this forenoon. Kib and Jake worked cleaning out with shovels this afternoon. Lew and Jake cleaned ditches with shovels and Kib hauled manure. I irrigated all day with about 36 inches of water on the little piece of alfalfa south west of the house and on the slips west of the lake.

Fri June 3 Some clear and some cloudy and towards night it rained quite a bit and hailed some here and over in the box elder county I am afraid that they catched it. Kib hauled manure in the forenoon and in the afternoon went to town. Lew and Jake and I cleaned out the ditches and finished. The boys hauled manure in the afternoon. I found the piece above the house done so I turned it down onto the lower orchard and when I went up to irrigate I found lots of water and done lots of irrigating in the afternoon.

Sat June 4 Rained a good deal and made an excuse for the scamp to run about all of the water from the ditch into Long Pond. They talk about a head gate being out somewhere down the ditch but I think it is only a blind to get water. We didnt do much any of us.

Sun June fifth Cloudy cold and windy but got better towards night. We kept Sunday for the ditch co wouldnt give us any water to irrigate with but still kept a running it into Long Pond.

Mon June 6 Clear and pretty all day. Lew and Kib finished the fence below the orchard and worked at the east fence some and in the afternoon. Lew and Jake irrigated on the Windy hill place. I irrigated this forenoon on the timber and this afternoon Kib and I sprayed the fruit trees and done sundry other chores. Jake mowed quite a bit this forenoon.

Tues June 7 Just as pretty as a pink and warm enough for the grass to grow some. Lew and Kib looked over the fence from the front gate around to the gate on the north side nailing a pole on now and then where needed and then hauling out manure and just at night getting in the hay that Jake cut yesterday. Jake irrigated in the alfalfa and I on the timber claim.

Wed June 8 Very nice and quite warm. Lew and Kib and the girls went to town to see the sport by the colledge [college] boys. Jake and I irrigated all day. I mostly on the timber claim but got through and shut down the gate and worked a spell at the alfalfa. We had a pretty good lot of water and we kept it running to the best advantage.

Thurs June 9 Quite nice again to day. Lew and Kib hauled manure. Jake and I irrigated on the Windy hill place and had plenty of water too luckily.

Fri June 10 Pretty good only a very dry wind and blowed pretty hard. Jake irrigated on the Windy hill place and finished just at night. Lew plowed out some ditches in the morning and then plowed the piece towards the house. Kib went to town and done some other chores. I put in the day at various things shoveling out ditches irrigating and hunting the orchard over for blight.
