Tues Apr 9 Clear and warm. Lew Helped Harry Dixon clean wheat awhile then went up to Harrys and got 943 lbs wheat. The tare was 33 lbs. We cleaned it this afternoon. Kib finished the alfalfa piece then run over part of it with the clod crusher and this afternoon he run over the other piece.

Wed Apr 5 Very nice day. Lew and I went to town got back a little after noon and vitrioled the wheat to sow then burnt off the ground west and south of the lower orchard. Kib irrigated mostly north of the house.

Thurs Apr 6 Awful windy most of the day. Lew sowed the wheat over on the hill and Kib harrowed there. I irrigated mostly.

Fri Apr 7 Mostly clear and awful windy. The boys finished the piece of wheat over on the hill. I irrigated steady all day on three pieces.

Sat April 8 Pretty fair only pretty cold in the fore part of the day. Lew and Kib put in the piece of wheat over in the N W corner of the place. I irrigated lots to day finished the meadow and strawberries and the ground west of the patch the hen yard and plant patch and door yard.

Sun Apr 9 A pretty nice day take it all around. Lew and Mary went up to the ranch and came home by Chas E Pennocks. Kib went to Dotts's with Meda and has not got home yet. Mother and I kept Sunday.

Mon April 10 Pretty nice but got cloudy this afternoon and the roosters crowed lots. Lew and Kib hauled manure onto the piece towards the barn and I irrigated below the orchard and got awful tired.

Tues Apr 11 A cold rough windy day. Lew and Kib done various odd jobs. I put in the day irrigating got the piece done below the orchard.

Wed apr [Apr] 12 Pretty cold again to day with some wind too. The boys hauled a couple of loads of hay this forenoon and this afternoon they worked at the walk front of the house. I finished irrigating the orchard and the back lawn and done some on the piece toward the barn.

Thurs April 13 Was slowly snowing this morning and kept it up during the fore part of the day snowed about an inch. Lew went to town to trade his horse for a calf but didnt make it yet. Kib rested only he went to Mr Cushions with Meda. I staid [stayed] in out of the rain and snow.

Fri April 14 Cold this morning with a little snow on the ground but it got to be a pretty good day. We found a spotted yearling steer at Mr Mclellans to day [today] will get him home in a day or two. Sold Tipsie to Charlie for 55 dollars. Lew went to Spring Canion [Canyon] ranch to day [today] and has not got back. Kib and I and Meda spent most of the day over in Collins.

Sat April 15 The wind didnt blow very steady or very hard but it was pretty cold. Lew and Kib hauled manure up at windy hill. I went over to Mr Howards and Mr Haags in the fore noon and the afternoon I took the fence away from the south and the north side of the straw stack so as to let the cattle to it.

Sun April 16 Pretty nice day. We all kept Sun [Sunday] pretty good. Kib and Meda went up to see how Charleys folks were getting along just before night.

Mon April 17 A very nice day. Kib hauled manure and helped Lew at the walk. Lew went to town and brought home the steer J S McClelland had and after he got home he worked at the walk. I went to town and arrangements with Mr Buffom [Buffum] to get a loan of 1,000 dollars and took up the Beach Note I got this money at 8 pr [per] cent.

Tues April 18 A pretty stormy day. The boys worked at the garden North of the house. Mother and I started out to seek our fortune went to town and from there to Mr Tofts. Eat our dinner there and got snow bound and staid [stayed] till most night then went on to Charleys at their new home found them pretty well crowded as they had not got their things fixed up very well yet but they expect to take lots of comfort in their new home.
