Description

Located in Davidson County, Nashville was founded in 1780 under the name Nashborough in then Washington District of North Carolina and was renamed Nashville in 1784. On May 26, 1790 it became part of Southwest Territory until the creation of the state of Tennessee on June 1, 1796, when it became part of Davidson County.
