Hon Fulton Anderson
Jackson "Miss"

Dear Sir

Inclosed I send to you a receipt given me for a horse—price ($200) Two hundred Dollars impressed for the use of the State of Mississippi by Lieut. W. H. Atkinson on the 26th May /63. I also inclose to you Gov Charles Clark's answer to a letter on the subject bearing date the 26th May /64.

You will see that I had written on the back of the paper given me—on the impressing of my horse—for the money to be paid to Mr. T. J. Frielan but he failed at the time to find any one to settle it & returned it to my hands. You will see that I have altered the dates as well as I could & substituted your name in place of his besides. You will find at the top of this paper that I send you Power of Attn'y to act for me in the collecting & receiving the debt for me—and on your return from the Legislature after paying yourself for your trouble in the matter, I will be thankful to you for the balance. I would have gone to Jackson to see you in person but am just able to sit up & write having been very sick for ten days past.

Yrs very Respectfully

Jno. M. Gre[page torn]
