City of Dallas Building Permit Books

This is a collection of City of Dallas building permit inspectors' log books starting in 1905 and continuing until the early 1970s. The collection is permanently retained at the Dallas Public Library in the Dallas History & Archives division. The log books contain original permit applicant names, building descriptions, and street addresses. Transcribing these records will help today's researchers find when a building was built and changes made to a structure over time.
