Minutes of District Council meeting held 19th August 1922

Present Jas O'Shanahan ( in the chair) Crs Puckridge, Morgan, Simes, & Hall. Minutes of previous meeting read & confirmed.

Financial statement for past month submitted.

Correspondence. 13, Hd Shannon Letters from Secretary for Lands stating that applications to transfer Sections 13, Hd Shannon, held by JR Robins, had been received and asked what instalments were due on Vermin Loans. Reply sent all paid 1/2/22

Sections 5, 6 Hd Mortlock Letter received from the Secry Lands stating that EC Seager had applied to surrender Perpetual Lease 1314S, Section 5 Hd Mortlock.

Loans for Fencing Letter from the Secry Lands acknowledging statement showing disposal of £40 granted for WHP LeBrun.

Letter from same office stating that application for a Loan under the Loans for Fencing Act for Mr John Durdin had been cancelled, as requested.

From same office acknowledging cheque for £115 on a/c wire-netting instalments

Lands cancelled Letter from Asst Secry Lands in reference to abandoned blocks.

Local Gov Department Letter from the Secretary re number of Councillors for Lincoln Ward reduced, & proclamation of same by Gazette notice. Adjustment between Council & Corporation From the same office in reference to adjustment between the District Council & Corporation.

Fencing Loans Acknowledgement from Secry Lands of two Loans for fencing.

Letter received from Mr John Durdin requesting to cancel his petition for a Loan under the Loans for Fencing Act.

Parcel to W Habner Letter received from Mr Habner in reference to a parcel containing rabbit poison consigned to him.

KJ Hyde Letter received from Mr Hyde requesting permission to remove stone opposite his gate on the (road Coomunga) to make a passable road. Reply to be sent that the Council require this stone for their own use.

Corporation Pt Lincoln Letter from the Clerk stating he had been directed to ask the Council to allow his Corporation to take over the big roller, which was considered of no value. Reply to be sent that we value the roller at £10 & they may have it at same price. Employment of a Roads Engineer Letter from the Town Clerk in reference to employment of a Road Engineer by Lincoln, & Tumby Councils, & Corporation of Pt Lincoln. Reply to be sent the Council do not consider the time opportune to employ a Roads Engineer. SA Wheat Harvest Board Letter from the Secretary requesting a written acceptance of the reinstalment of road at Mile End to its original position. Letter to be sent

Australasian Scale Coy. Letter from the Manager in reference to inspector of weights & measures.

Govt Grants A/c Notice from the accountant Local Govt dept stating that £200 had been paid to the above A/c.

McGlew & Company Letter from the Manager in reference to relost crude tar.

Pound at Cummins Letter from Mr Cooper re Pound yard at Cummins.

Wire netting Weemyss Bros Letter from Messrs Weemyss Bros re wire netting.

Road Work Returned Soldiers Letter from the Secretary Local Govt Dept referring to employment of returned Soldiers.

Revision of Assessment revised assessment presented. Moved by Cr Simes that the assessment of £23,925 as revised be adopted. 2nd by Cr Puickridge & carried.

Appeal Day Resolved that appeals be heard on the 16th September 1922 at 2pm.
