Minutes of Meeting held Dec 18th 1914 Present All. Councillor Jas OShanahan in the Chair. Minutes of previous meeting read & confirmed. Finance & Expenditure Statement were read by the Chairman.

Netting Quotation. From Surveyor General. Elder Smith & Co Harris Scarfe. GR Wills. Farmers Union & Crookes & Brookes were received. Motion. Moved by Cr Garrett, That wire netting loan now granted be purchased from the Government Seconded by Cr Hartley. Carried

Letter. From Varley & Evan re minutes of Council Closing road in the Hd Louth.

Letter. From JH Chapman re road near Barrauds Overseer stated that he had inspected same.

Letter. From HH Voumard re DC Rates & Wire Net Instalments.

Letter. From P Kennedy re wire netting Instalments

Letter from PDS Cooper re gravelling Footpath at Cummins. O/S to attend to same.

Letter. From Jas Patterson asking for extention of time to complete his contract. Granted.

18th 12 1914 Continued Letter From PJ Wilkinson re rate on Mrs M Wilkinsons land

Letter From Harris Scarfe re burners for Lamps.

Camping. Letter receeived from JR Mitchell asking permission for a party to camp on the beach. Cr Garrett offered his allotment east of Grand Hotel to this particular party and moved that the Overseer & Clerk to make an inspection as to the most suitable places for Campers on the Beach & Park lands & report at the next meeting Seconded by Cr Hartley. Carried

Letter . From Secretary Yeelanna Vigilant Committee asking that Cranston & Smith Streets at Bellwood Township be grubbed. Motion. Moved by Cr Hall. That the overseer have the work done. Sec by Cr Hartley. Carried

Letter. From Rec A.E.Page asking permission to use the Rotunda to hold a concert. Permission granted & Clerk to reply stating that they would have to make arrangement with the Band Committee re Lighting same.

Letter. From J Jenkins asking for further leave of absence from work. Moved by Cr Hartley That Mr Jenkins be granted leave of absence till the end of year Sec by Cr Morgan. Carried.

18th . 12. 1914 Continued Wood Licence Application from Messrs Carey & OBrine to cut wood from Park lands. Motion Moved by Cr Garrett. That a licence be granted subject to same being confined to Park lands North of Town Allotment at Happy Vally. Sec by Cr Morgan. Carried

Letter. From Surveyor General re wire Netting Instalments stating there was 198.15.4 plus 5% interest due on 1914 Instalments for wire netting loans.

Letter Pillana Rd. From Com Crown lands re opening Rd to Pillana Siding.

Letter. From Sec to Com of Crown lands re loans to District Councils for Road making.

Letter. From Private Sec to the Gov. Thanking the Council for there expression of loyalty to his Majesty the King.

Letter. From Military Department Re Circulars posted to the Council.

Letter. From Surveyor General re wire Netting application from Lynch & Argent.

Letter. From Sec Crown Office Re Main Road Grant for year ending 30th June 1915

18th .12. 1914 Continued Motion Moved by Cr Hall. That the Clerk apply to the Com for the Balance of Main Road grant. Sec by Cr Hartley. Carried

Memo. From Sec to Commissioner of Crown lands stating that 4/14/4 had been paid to the Credit of Council at the Bank of Australasia as proportions of Licences.

Cemetery report. The report of the Cemetery Committee was read by Cr Garrett. After discussion it was resolved to adopt the report with the exception of the 1st & last clause, These were defered for future discussion.

Report of Gravel Supply The report of the Committee which was appointed to investigate the matter of Gravel for use on Roads in & around the Township was read by Cr Garrett. Motion. Moved by Cr Garrett. That the report be adopted Sec by Cr Hartley. The motion was lost.

Motion re prosecutions. Moved by Cr Garrett. That the overseer be instructed to immediately prosecute any person found removing gravel from any property of the Council Sec by Cr Hartley. Carried

Motion Re Mr JD Bruce Moved by Cr Morgan. That a minutes be placed on the Books Thanking Mr Bruce. For his long & Faithful services to the District as Chairman & Councillor Sec by Cr Puckridge & Supported by Cr Hall. Carried
