Minutes of Meeting held Nov 20th 1914 Present Chairman Jas O'Shanahan Councillors Hall, Morgan, Hartley Puckridge, & Garrett.

Report of Election Returning Officer reported the results of the Extraordinary Election for Lincoln Ward, held on November 14th 1914. Candidates JD Bruce 153 EE Garrett 164 EE Garrett duly Elected. Finance Financial Statement read by the Chairman.

Road & Lamp Letter from Mr Seddon re the bad state of road near his place also stating that Lamp near Tapleys had not been lighted in a proper manner.

Depasturing Letter from C Kennedy asking permission to depasture cows on township Park Lands. Petition from H,T, Walker & others asking permission to depasture stock on the park lands, The Council considered that they had no pasture to grant the request. Surveying Circular from Seddon & Packard re Surveying.

Wire net Loans Letter from Surveyor General Stating that owing to finances, The Government was unable to grant any further loans at present. Hospital Rd. Letter from Crown Lands re Hospital Road.

Motion. Moved by Cr Garrett. That the Contract of making New rd to Hospital be let to I Halls at 2/10/- per chain & that same must be completed by 31st January 1915. Sec by Cr Hartley. Carried

Wire Net Instal. Letter from P Kennedy re Wire Netting Instalments resolved that Mr kennedy be advised that the amount must be paid. Letter from JA Crabb re wire Netting Instalments. Hospital Rd. Letter from JG Mosely re Hospital Rd.

Letter from Scrymgaur & Sons re Cheque Forms. Vouchers Letter from Sec Crown Lands re Vouchers for Account A Clerk stated that all vouchers had been sent to 30/6/14.

Letter From SJ Flavel re road near Strawberry Hill. Motion. Moved by Cr Puckridge That the Overseer have the work done. Sec Cr Hartley. Carried Yeelanna Lamp. Letter from Sec Yeelanna Vig Committee re glass for lamp supplied. Wire net Instal. Letter from R Hamilton asking for time to pay Wire netting Instalments. Clerk to reply stating that Council insists on payment of same. J Jenkins. Letter from J Jenkins asking for 2 weeks leave of absence from his work on account of illness. Motion. Moved by Cr Hartley That the request be granted Sec by Cr Hall. Carried.

Gov Loan. Letter from Commissioner of Crown Lands stating that the Government would consider the Councils request, provided the Council gave some diffinate proposition as to what was required and the proposed repayments of Same.

Motion. Moved by Cr Hall That the Gov be asked for £200- for a term of 6 years. Repayments to be made by 6 annual Instalments of £33.6.8 each plus 4½ % Interest. Sec by Cr Garrett. Carried

Letter From E M Sage re wire netting Instalments (Clerk to reply)

Sand Hills. Letter from D Davies asking permission to remove sand hill in Washington Street near the Grand Hotel. Motion. Moved by Cr Hartley. That the request be granted subject to the work being carried out to the satisfaction of the Overseer. Sec by Cr Puckridge. carried.

Circular. From Varley & Evan. Circular From C.S.Domaine & others Electrical Engineers.

Wire. from Assistant Engineer of Roads ( Mr Greenlees)

Surveying. Letter from AJ Chittlebrough stating that he was not a resident of Port Lincoln, & asked to be considered should the Council have survey work on hand. Reply. Clerk to reply that Council would consider the request when work was available.

Circular. From ALE Hanson Land & Estate Agent (received). Chapman Rd. Letter from JH Chapman asking to have road near Barrauds repaired. Overseer to attend to same.

Watering Sheep. Letter from JV Whyte asking permission to water sheep which were coming by steamer at the Town well. Granted.

BLK 114N Lin. Letter from Surveyor General askinmg for amount of rates on Section 114N Hd Lincoln. Clerk stated that account had been sent.

Tennants Rd. Letter from Varley & Evan re Exchange of Road Hd Louth. Motion. Moved by Cr Hall. That Messrs Varley & Evan be instructed to proceed with the matter at once. Sec by Cr Puck. Carried.

Letter. From Hunkin Ellis & King. printers.

Netting Instal. letter from Mrs E Slater re wire netting Instalments (Clerk to reply)

Early Closing. Letter from C.L Matthews re early closing petition.

Wire Net Quotation. Quotation received from Harris Scarfe for Wire netting. Resolved that Clerk write all leading firms for quotations for Wire Netting prices to be F.O.B Port Adelaide.

Relief Fund. Letter from Lady Galway Re relief fund for the people of Belgium. Clerk to reply that this Council would cooperate with any relief raised in the District

Clerk stated that the W.C.T. Union requested to have the Council Hall. To hold a patriotic Concert. Motion. Moved by Cr Morgan. That the request be granted free of charge. Sec by Cr Garrett. Carried.

Councillors. Cr Hall stated that he had let the repairing of road near Mr Roes to Kammerman Bros. Cr Hall submitted a report on Pillana Rd stating that same would cost about £124. Motion. Moved by Cr Hall. That the Government be requested to grant £100 from Account towards the opening of the new Rd from Pillana Railway Siding to the S W Boundary of Blk 5 Hd Cummins. Sec by Cr Hartley. Carried.

Councillor Hall asked that the plans of Cummins Cemetery be sent to the Curator also a scale of fees & Charges. Also that one mile of grubbing be Tendered for North of Cummins Township. Granted.

Motion. Moved by Cr Hartley. That the Gov be written to stating, That in the opinion of this Council The time has arrived when the Town & Sub of Port Lincoln should be placed under a Municipality. Sec by Cr Garrett. Carried.

Motion. Moved by Cr Hartley. That a letter be sent to the Governor Expressing This Council Loyalty to his Majesty King George V Sec by Cr Garrett . carried.
