"Wild Turnip"
Cr Ford reported that complaints had been received that the weed "Wild Turnip" is growing on the property of
Goldsborough Mort & Co and Elder Smith & Co at Cummins, and it is desired that steps be taken to prevent this weed spreading.
Prop Cr Ford/ Sec Cr Richardson} That GM & Co and
Elder Smith & Co be written to requesting them to take the necessary steps to eradicate this weed on their properties.
Carried.
John Tennant Memorial- Clerk reported that at the request of the Secretary on behalf of the Trustees of Andrew Tennant Estate the date of the unveiling of the John Tennant memorial
at Tallala had been postponed from 27-9-46 to a date in October to be arranged to suit the members of the Tennant Family,
which will be arrangfed through the Secretary.
Report- Overseers Report was read.
Prop Cr Doudle/ Sec Cr Woods} That the Overseers Report as read be adopted. Carried.
Camp Allowance Utensils- Prop Cr Woods/ Sec Cr Richardson}
That the amount of allowance to workmen in lieu of Copuncil providing Camp Utensils be increased from 1/- to 2/- per week.
Carried.
Noxious Weeds Action to be taken
Prop Cr Richardson/ Sec Cr Smith}
That following instructions from the Minister of Agriculture
for the Council to take the necessary action to compel the destruction of Noxious Weeds- That following notices being issued by the Overseer- Legal action be taken by him against those who do not comply with same. - this to apply more especially in connexion with the Noxious Weed
"St Johns Wort". Carried.
New Assessment- The New Assessment, by adoption of previous Assessment with alterations and additions was submitted by the Clerk AH Taylor. Prop Cr Smith/ Sec Cr Doudle} That the New Assessment of £60652 as presented be adopted for the New Year ending 30 June 1947.
subject to Court of Appeal adjustments. Carried.
