resolved that if such explanation when made shall not
be satisfactory to the board and to the superintendent of public
instruction that a full and accurate enumeration be taken
as provided for by the [14] section of the school law

On motion it was resolved that the janirtor fund
for the several buildings be revised as follows
First ward for twelve weeks $48
Second ward for twelve weeks 30
Third ward for twelve weeks 24
Fourth ward for twelve weeks 15
Fifth ward for twelve weeks 39
Sixth ward for twelve weeks 15
Seventh ward for twelve weeks 15
Eighth ward for twelve weeks 45
Ninth ward for twelve weeks 30
Fifth ward Colony for twelve weeks 15
Total $276

Propositions having been received from the various
agents and coal companies of the city for furnish
ing coal for the use of the public schools for the
ensuing year and the Rolling Mill Company being
the lowest bidder it was
Resolved that the contract
for coal be awarded to the Rolling Mill Company
at fifteen (15 cts) per bushel All the coal to be weighed
and delivered in the school coal houses free of additional
expense
Proposals were received from various parties
for building the stairways & c for the new 4th and 9th
wards
Ordered that the contract be awarded to [Jack] D Miller
for the sum of $700 He being the lowest bidder
Proposals were opened for painting
glazing and [oiling] in the new 4th and 9th ward buildings
