Description: (From Irving Pl., New York City). I am happy to contribute to Miss Anthony's table. I will get the books, autograph them and take them to Madison Square. Mary H. Krout (1851-1927), American author, journalist and feminist. Born in Crawfordsville, Indiana, she began writing for local newspapers after teaching school for more than ten years. In 1888 she moved to Chicago where she got a job writing for the Chicago Inter-Ocean and the Chicago Tribune. She travelled the world writing articles and books about her journeys. She also lectured around the world on women's suffrage. She eventually returned to Crawfordsville where she died in 1927.
